Why Eclipse is better for Java
1. Ability to run the project from within Eclipse with a single click.
2. Eclipse has been around for a longer time than IntelliJ IDEA.
3. Eclipse has historically been more focused on Java development.
4. Eclipse is often considered more lightweight in terms of resource usage compared to IntelliJ IDEA.
5. Eclipse has a vast array of plugins available, covering a wide range of functionalities and integrations.
6. Eclipse includes built-in support for auto-formatting code to adhere to project programming style.
7. Eclipse provides robust support for editing XML files, including XML Schema (XSD), XML validation, XPath support, and more.
8. Eclipse has a workspace-centric model, allowing users to work with multiple projects within a single workspace.
9. Eclipse is developed and maintained by an open-source community.
Rich Client Platform (RCP) Development, Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF), Eclipse Marketplace...
IntelliJ IDEA is so bad for Java, that my second choice would be to use VS Code.
I recommend using Eclipse
and unless you want to support the tutorial, reports, patches and code format for L2jMobius,
do not recommend IntelliJ to others.
